Meet Your Therapist

About

I am a mother of two and was born on the Wirral, where I have lived for most of my life. I have always been interested in wellbeing and different approaches to healing, particularly the connection between the mind and body and how our physical, emotional and psychological experiences influence one another.

My journey has taken me through a number of different fields. I initially trained as a lawyer, before following my interest in health and wellbeing and becoming a yoga teacher and Trigger Point and Myofascial Therapist. I have training across counselling, IFS and mind-body approaches, and I’m developing additional scientific knowledge through my Biomedical Science degree which has greatly deepened my understanding of the body and how it functions.

My interest in psychotherapy grew from wanting to understand healing more fully—not only physically, but also emotionally and psychologically. My own therapeutic journey began over 30 years ago through Gestalt groups and workshops, which have given me a deeper understanding of myself and brought authenticity, empathy and self-awareness to my work.

I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can explore what you are experiencing at your own pace. I believe therapy works best as a collaborative process, and I will work alongside you to understand what you need and what may be getting in the way of living the life you want.

My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, with a Person-Centred foundation, drawing particularly on Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, CBT and Transactional Analysis. As a Mindbody Coach and SIRPA Practitioner, I also have a particular interest in the relationship between emotional wellbeing, stress, trauma and physical symptoms.

At the heart of my work is creating a safe and trusting relationship where you can feel understood and accepted. My aim is to support you in reconnecting with yourself, developing greater resilience and gently moving towards greater ease, connection and fulfilment.

Work With Me

I am based in Oxton, on the Wirral, UK, and offer both face-to-face and online sessions. I currently work with UK residents only.

If you feel this approach may be right for you, you’re very welcome to complete the contact form below. I’ll be in touch to arrange an initial appointment (subject to availability).

Session details:

  • Length: 60-90 minutes (My sessions may last longer to allow the time and space that IFS work often needs, without having to rush or interrupt the process. I also intentionally keep my fees as affordable and accessible as possible, so that this work can be available to more people).
  • Frequency: Sessions are held usually held every two weeks, with flexibility to suit your individual needs and availability.
  • Commitment: No fixed number of sessions. There is no requirement to commit to a set number of sessions. We can work together as long as you find Counselling helpful, reviewing things along the way to make sure the support continues to meet your needs.
  • Fee: £50 per session.

I am a BACP-Accredited Therapist, trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS trained level 1 and level 2) Therapy and Person-Centred Therapy, as well as a SIRPA Practitioner. I have a particular interest in the relationship between stress, trauma and the nervous system, and how these can affect both our physical and emotional wellbeing.

My approach is compassionate and collaborative. I aim to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences, while offering practical tools to support greater balance, resilience and lasting change.

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, and it is natural to feel unsure about what to expect. Having the opportunity to talk openly, without judgement, can be an important first step towards feeling more understood and making sense of what you are going through.
